"Misfit" in any Party Circuit

The occassion: Nothing special. Sanjay's elder brother and wife in town for a marriage, so a small get together in my house. Since they haven't been to our new house yet and its 26th January. Meaning there is no drinks available even in a five star :)

Attendants: Prem Bhaiya, Madhuri Bhabhi, Sunit, Roma, Saloni, Shweta, Siddhant, Sanjay, Me, Ishaan

Ladies: All dressed. Absolutely prim prom. Madhuri Bhabhi is back from a marriage, but has managed to change into a really cool looking salwar before coming. Roma, dressed nicely as usual. In a black wills lifestyle dress. Cheeku, nice looking jeans and Shweta, straight from the marriage in a nice pink attire. All with their lipsticks in place, nice eye wear, branded perfumes and all.

Even my chotu manages to dress well (he will only wear jeans when he has guests at home)!!!! He wore his goggles...yes, he has one that his dad bought him :(....

Me, in one white boring cotton dress. After cleaning the house so that it looks designer, making ishaan eat, getting the food and drinks ready, getting ishaan dressed. No earrings, no lipstick, no perfume, no makeup.

I think I can manage to look like their maid on any given day. All I need is someone to ask them, "Nice ayah...kahan se mili?"

Everyone around me seems to be worried about what I am going to wear for any occasion. My mom wonders how they allow me to enter my office in those ghastly old dresses. I think the laptop does the trick :-p. The fact that even that is one old boring one doesn't help though.

I think I need to do something about my desires. Basically have some sort of a desire to dress up.

Mood: Sombre (like my dresses :-x)
Thought throughout the day: The term "Misfit" must have been coined for me.

arrre!! U always dressed well (when ever i saw u, and that was most often in Pujaas :) ). These house affairs should be like that....even i roam around in my bathroom slippers and a boring old tantra tee shirt. yes young ones are very very conscious about they ways they look. And honestly after all that tucking beds, shoving old newpapers inside, feeding and running behind our little terrors, the inclination to dress up to the occassion is very little. However, having said that- its all in the mind. :)

Thanks for all those lovely words Tina. You really made my day. Thankfully atleast on Puja, I am OKely dressed.
Now for the good news..these young ones are mostly older than me. Madhuri bhabhi atleast 10 years older, if not more. Roma also is a little older and has a little one at home. :-p

Meaning, I am basically a Slob and a Lazybones (when it comes to dressing atleast).
